Abstract

The aim of the current research is to measure the effectiveness of a unit formulated according to the strategy of climbing the plateau to develop the historical comprehension skills of first-year secondary students. Two groups, one experimental, numbering (18), and the other controlling (18), and the problem of the current research was determined in the weakness of historical understanding skills. ) between the average scores of the students of the two research groups in the post-application of the historical comprehension test in favor of the experimental group, the adjusted “Blake” gain ratio was acceptable, and the program’s impact is generally high, meaning that the program is effective in developing historical understanding skills, and based on the research results recommended The researcher needs to reformulate and organize the units of the history curriculum in the secondary stage according to the strategy of climbing the plateau, and to include the content of the history curricula at the secondary stage with the skills of historical understanding, and to hold training programs for Teach history while serving in secondary school; In order to provide them with the skills and competencies necessary to successfully use the plateau climbing strategy in teaching.
