Abstract

: This research focuses on: (1) The need for grammar, 2. What is the science of grammar, 3. What is meant by grammar, 4. The origin of grammar, 5. Where did grammar originate, 6. The science of Arabic grammar, 7. The reasons for developing the science of grammar, 8. Grammar schools, 9. Late grammarians, 10. The founders of grammar and morphology, 11. The importance of Arabic grammar, 12. Schools of Arabic grammar, 13. Parts of speech, 14. The difference between noun and verb, 15. The phases of grammar), To access the required data and the evidence proven in the case, the researcher conducted the research with the necessary methods in the library studies, namely the inductive approach, the deductive approach, and the graphical approach. You understand data and information from its sources which are written materials in books, copies or articles. The result of this research hope to give a realistic picture of the topic he is looking for. The result of this research shows that grammar is one of the most important Arabic sciences because it touches important aspects of the Arabic language, which needed grammar because it has important functions in preserving its integrity from corruption and disorder, in addition to helping readers in understanding the read texts, and assisting the speaker in correct speech expression. It helps the writer to reach the correct writing, and before the emergence of grammar, the state of the Arabic language was a strong life, and it did not need rules to maintain it. This is because the ancient Arabs spoke their language based on common sense and straightforwardness; Historians did not agree on the first to put grammar, because this science is old in origin, and the narrations that come to us are conflicting, but there is the most likely opinion that says, or the first to put grammar is Abu al-Aswad al-Du’ali under the guidance of Imam Ali, may God be pleased with him.
