Abstract
This study aimed to identify the factors influencing low academic achievement among male students from the perspective of teachers in Omani schools. A descriptive analytical approach was adopted, involving data collection and statistical analysis to achieve the study aims. The study sample consisted of 563 teachers. To achieve the study objectives, the researchers developed a questionnaire which was administered to a systematic random sample. To obtain the results, arithmetic means and t-tests were used to measure differences. The results showed that teacher-related factors were the most significant and had a substantial impact. Statistically significant differences (α = 0.05) were found in three factors, favoring schools with high achievement, while no statistically significant differences were found in the family environment factor. The study recommended the need to focus on the preparation and training of teachers in the areas of learning, curriculum, and teaching methodologies. It also presented several recommendations and suggestions.
