The degree of inclusion in the books of social education tourist concepts for the grades (fourth and fifth) of the basic stage in Jordan

Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the degree of inclusion of tourism concepts in the books of social education in Jordan, Through the analysis of the content of those books in order to answer the questions of the study, The study used the descriptive method. The tool consisted in constructing a list of tourist concepts, which included twenty-two concepts that were applied to a sample of two books of social education, , And statistical processing of data.

The results of the study revealed the availability of tourist concepts to varying degrees in the books of social education for two grades (fourth and fifth) in Jordan, Where the concepts (mountain chains , the sea) rates are high, and the concepts (archaeological sites, forests, coastal plains, sand dunes of coastal plains), the proportions of medium, The other tourist concepts in these books were low, such as (festivals, commercial centers, ports and airports, restrooms, sand dunes, good hospitality, hospitality, mineral water, religious tourism, internal tourism, foreign tourism, political stability, , Museums, holy places, deserts) The results show that the social book for the fourth grade was ranked first in the total number of repetitions (111). The fourth grade book was (57) repeated, followed by the fifth grade book (54) The study recommended to conduct further studies to identify tourist concepts in books and other stages of study.
