The extent of acquiring mathematical justification skills among the eighth grade students in some schools in Jordan

Abstract

This study aimed to measure the extent of acquiring mathematical justification skills، and if there were statistically differences in the level of performance among the eighth grade students on mathematical justification skills due to achievement، skill type and sex. In order to achieve the objectives of the study، the analytical descriptive method was used by an achievement test consisting of (22) items distributed on the techniques of deductive justification and inductive reasoning on a sample consisting of (710) eighth grade students.

 The results of the study showed a low level of performance of the eighth grade students on the skills of mathematical justification، and showed no statistically differences due to sex on the skills of mathematical justification، and there were statistically differences due to achievement level.
