Abstract

The study aimed at: revealing the degree of application of faculty polarization at the University of Jeddah, as well as revealing the existence of statistically significant differences at the significance level (α ≥ 0.05) between the average estimates of the study sample members of the degree of application of faculty recruitment at the University of Jeddah due to the different variables (type, academic rank, years of experience). The study used the descriptive survey method, and the use of the questionnaire as a study tool was applied to a simple random sample, where the study community consisted of faculty members at the University of Jeddah, and the sample size was (169) members.

Among the most important findings of the study: The degree of application of faculty members at the University of Jeddah, from their point of view, came with a (low) degree, the dimension (individuals’ needs and abilities) came with a (low) degree of application, the (university job needs) came with a (low) degree of application, there are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average responses of faculty members at the University of Jeddah about the degree of application of the first dimension (individuals needs and abilities) at the University of Jeddah, between males and females, in favor of females, and there are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) between the average responses of faculty members at the University of Jeddah about the degree of application of the second dimension (the needs of university jobs) at the University of Jeddah due to the difference in the gender variable.

As a result of the results of the study, the researcher recommended the following: Work on setting firm and clear criteria for attracting a faculty member at the university, the necessity of conducting a continuous evaluation of faculty members to discover weaknesses and shortcomings and address them, and the need to know the needs and problems of faculty members and work to solve them, which improves their productivity and improves their level of teaching.
