The impact of sexual harassment on psychological adjustment and self- esteem

Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of sexual harassment on psychological adjustment and self- esteem among a purposive sample consisted of 444 participants (119=male, 325=female), 46.3% had exposed to sexual harassment. To achieve the study aims two scales were used: Psychological Adjustment scale by "Sura, E. M." (1986), and Self- esteem scale by "Rosenberg, M." (1965). Results revealed that there were significant differences between exposed and not exposed to sexual harassment in both psychological adjustment and self- esteem. In addition, the results showed significant differences between males and females who were exposed to sexual harassment in psychological adjustment but not self- esteem.
