Trends of students of the Faculty of Basic Education in Kuwait towards some misconceptions in physical education

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the attitudes of the students of the Faculty of Basic Education in Kuwait towards some misconceptions in physical education. The descriptive descriptive method was used. The study was conducted on a random sample of (371) male and female students. The study found that the attitudes of the students of the Faculty of Basic Education were overall positive towards the misconceptions in physical education. The results revealed that there were (4) wrong perceptions out of (30) misconceptions of physical education. The results showed that the misconceptions of male students are higher than those of female students, and of those with higher scientific, literary and qualitative specialties than those with a higher education, and those with lower cumulative rates than those with high cumulative rates. The study also found no statistically significant differences between practitioners and non-practitioners of sport, and there were no statistically significant differences in the variable of the school year.
