Evaluation of the science book for the sixth grade in Jordan from the point of view of science teachers and their teachers

Abstract

The aim of the study was to know the assessment of the science teachers of the sixth grade of the basic orthodontics in the six axes: (technical standards, standards of learning outcomes, standards of book content, standards of educational activities, presentation and organization of the material, and evaluation criteria) (SPSS) The results of the study showed the following: The indicators of the axes achieved a general average of (4.07). The results of the study were as follows: To a high degree, and at the level of axes obtained The field of the technical standards of the book is highest (4.19) with a high grade. The field of the presentation is presented in the book at an average of (4.12), then the field of means of assessment (4.11), then the area of ​​activities (4.02) (4.00). Finally, the field of educational content was obtained with an average of (3.98) and a high grade. There were no significant differences in the teachers' evaluations due to gender, academic qualification or teaching experience. The researcher recommended the need to involve teachers and supervisors in the preparation of the textbook, and design, and the conduct of other relevant studies such as measuring the readability of developed science books.
