Abstract

This study aimed to Find out the role of the professional evaluation (annual assessment) for teachers In Irbid Governorate, Jordan to improve their performance from their point of view, in the light of variables of the gender, degree, and the final academic year assessment .

The study includes a sample of two hundred teachers (male and female) from the governmental schools in AL –koura directorate which is located in Irbid governorate.

The study showed that the effect of the teachers evaluation on their performance came in the middle level at about 49.32% percent with strong points that had a strong effect on improving the teachers performance and other points that had low effect.

The study showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the role of the annual assessment in improving the teacher's performance refers to variable of the gender, while the study showed there were a statistical significance differences refers to seventh degree and first and the rate of evaluation in the last year for the benefit excellent assessment.

The researcher suggested a new program for training and evaluating the teachers that isn’t the same as being done now and some recommendations.
